AISI 1045 is a medium-carbon steel used in four conditions: hot rolled, normalized, oil quenched and tempered or water quenched and tempered. It is a general-purpose engineering and construction steel and provides medium strength and toughness at low cost. It is commonly used for flame- or induction-hardened parts.
