Abstract
ALUMINUM 2018 is an age-hardenable aluminum forging alloy characterized by relatively high tensile and yield strengths along with fairly good ductility. It has good elevated-temperature properties. Its applications include engine pistons and engine cylinder heads. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, tensile properties, and shear strength as well as fatigue. It also includes information on low and high temperature performance, and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Al-130.
