Abstract
ALUMINUM 355.0 is a general-purpose, high-strength casting alloy containing silicon and copper as the major alloying elements. Its casting characteristics are excellent and it is recommended for pressure-tight castings. It can be age hardened and has good resistance to corrosion. Among its uses are housings, cylinder heads and propeller gear boxes. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as casting, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Al-235.
