SAE 50B50 is a low-chromium alloy steel with boron added to provide a substantial increase in its hardenability. Its higher hardenability is reflected in higher hardness, especially in the liquid quenched-and-tempered condition. It is used a wide range of machinery and tool applications where its medium hardenability and strength meet the requirements.
