GUTERL H-11 is a 5% chromium hot-work tool steel with an excellent combination of red hardness, shock resistance (toughness) and resistance to abrasion; these are the properties needed for good hot-work characteristics. It will withstand drastic cooling from maximum operating temperatures. Among the many uses for this steel are hot-die applications, structural parts for jet engines and missiles, extrusion mandrels and forging dies.
