Abstract
KB1-40 Alloy is a solid solution of 60% tantalum and 40% columbium (niobium). It costs much less than tantalum, yet it retains much of tantalum's excellent ability to resist chemical corrosion at high temperatures. It has higher tensile and yield strengths than tantalum and comparable ductility. Typical applications are heat exchangers, reactors, condensers and thermowells. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, and tensile properties.
