Copper Alloy No. C86400 is a free-machining, low-tensile (60,000 psi), cast manganese bronze; it is also classified as high-strength yellow brass. Although it is around the low-strength end of the manganese bronzes, its tensile strength is substantially greater than that of the corresponding copper-zinc (yellow brass) alloy. Typical uses are marine fittings, valve stems, lever arms and light-duty gears. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, tensile properties, and compressive strength as well as fracture toughness.
