ALCOA 2036 ALLOY was the first modern commercially acceptable aluminum autobody sheet alloy. It has been widely used in outer panel applications. It has moderate strength and formability and good strength after forming when no benefit can be expected from subsequent primer paint bake thermal cycles. It is not susceptible to Luders or stretcher-strain lines.
