Carpenter Project 70+ Type 416 stainless steel is a modified version of Type 416 stainless steel with improved machinability when compared to conventional 416 (Alloy Digest SS-459, March 1985, and Alloy Digest SS-769, November 1999). The alloy is a hardenable ferritic chromium steel. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness.
