TIMETAL 10-2-3 is a high fracture toughness titanium-base alloy. It is metallurgically near-beta and is capable of attaining a wide variety of strength levels, depending uopn the selection of heat treatment. Major advantages of this alloy are: (1) Its excellent forgeability, (2) Its high toughness in air and salt-water environments and (3) Its high hardenability which provides good properties in sections up to five inches thick. It is used in the aerospace industry for applications up to 600 F. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, tensile properties, and compressive, shear, and bearing strength as well as fracture toughness.
