Abstract
ALUMINUM 2218 is an aluminum-copper-nickel-magnesium alloy (formerly designated B18S Alloy). It is a standard forging alloy and is recommended for elevated-temperature service. It is used for aircraft and jet engine components. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, tensile properties, and shear strength as well as fatigue. It also includes information on high temperature performance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Al-95. Producer or source: Various aluminum companies.
