ALUMINUM 2218 is an aluminum-copper-nickel-magnesium alloy (formerly designated B18S Alloy). It is a standard forging alloy and is recommended for elevated-temperature service. It is used for aircraft and jet engine components. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, tensile properties, and shear strength as well as fatigue.
