Austral Wright Titanium Grade 12 (UNS R53400) is a titanium alloy that contains small additions of nickel and molybdenum. It is considerably superior to unalloyed titanium in several aspects, and is characterized by high strength, good ductility, and outstanding corrosion resistance. Austral Wright Titanium Grade 12 is used in mildly reducing conditions, or where conditions vary from oxidizing to reducing. It is particularly resistant to crevice corrosion in hot brines. AS 1210, and ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code pre-qualify Austral Wright Titanium Grade 12 for use in pressure vessels up to 300 ºC (572 ºF).
